The wonderful bear quilts of Nancy Erickson was the inspiration for this journal quilt. We were driving back to the coast after spending Christmas in Saskatchewan. It was the beginning of January and the last day of the exhibit in Missoula Montana. I loved the look of the polar bears. I was surprised I could actually paint such wonderful bears. I loved the vibrancy of color and the stitching on the background.
